Background: Nathaniel's father is Ethan Muir, a very powerful wizard with an impressive reputation, one factor of it being his many arrests by the MOM for his unorthodox methods and theories. The man is over a hundred in truth, making the gap between their ages quite astounding. Ethan has been an old man for Nathaniel's entire life. Nathaniel was born in a small village in Belize that was isolated enough that none but magical folk lived there. It was a quite provincial life, much simpler than the one Nathaniel came to know. For a long time as a child he was isolated, having only Ethan to guide and teach him. Nathaniel is not Ethan's only child, simply the youngest. His older brothers and sisters don't like him very much, nor are they particularly happy with their father about him. He has met them only a few times in his life.
When Nathaniel was 8 or so Ethan packed them up and moved them to the United Kingdom. Ethan had never quite fit in with the people of the little village they lived in, and at that age it had never occurred to Nathaniel that there was anything odd about that. Suddenly he was in a world where his father looked like the majority and fewer people looked like him. Ethan had quite a reputation as well, and often sought for consultation and Nathaniel saw less of his father, though the man always assured him that "you are my favorite project".
Personality: Nathaniel is very intelligent and very talented. Tested as a genius as a child, he things tend to come easily to him. He is generally a reserved, gentle boy, tending to be quite polite and kind, the sort to get along with most everyone, if only because it is hard to imagine being cruel to him. He speaks carefully and with great thought. He is a little less guarded, more open, more elemental, noble in a way than most one could meet. He is very protective of those he cares about, and defends them with a palpable fierceness. At times his movements and speech almost crackle with power, yet he always seems to reserve this dynamic energy for another moment . . . it could be an act of course, but no one has ever seen Nathaniel be anything else. Most simply accept him as the peculiar boy he is, which suits him as he wants to be liked and accepted.

Dislikes: Flying, being stuck inside for a long time
Academic Outlook: Nathaniel likes all the classes he takes for different reasons. He is a very devoted student.
Quirks: Keen senses, quite strong, fast, with amazing balance and grace, often giving the impression that he is a dancer or some such thing. Unless he concentrates he moves silently and has learned to walk heavier at times to avoid startling people. He is very clever and remembers the general idea of everything he reads if not precise details.
Counter Quirks: He has trouble at times, understanding things like sarcasm and lies. He gets a little lost in the world sometimes and doesn’t always remember where he is. Mostly, he is just a little bit odd.
Appearance: Nathaniel has a lanky build and his tall for his age. Despite being in the midst of a growth spurt he has a peculiar grace that one would not expect a boy his age to have—now or ever. His eyes are a wicked golden amber, flecked with green that almost seems to glow in the dark. He has short, straight black hair that he is forever mussing up. His skin is caramel, light and sweet with that touch of the exotic. He has long elegant fingers that more often than not can be seen tapping out unheard rhythms. His face is angular and pure, with a deceptively reserved mouth and clean white teeth.
