Background: His attendance to Hogwart's was delayed. He was attending another school (much to the annoyance of his family), up until the point where a tragic accident resulted in the death of one of Michael's instructors. He was immediately transfered to Hogwart's, to 'get the poor boy away from the painful memories', or so he was told. He knows the truth. His grandparents pulled a few strings to make sure he ended up going to the school they wanted him to attend.
He is expected to become the Keeper of the Quidditch team, and continue the family record of not allowing a single quaffle to pass through the scoring rings. He is expected to everything that his father and grandfather and great grandfather were. Sometimes he feels that the only thing he is NOT expected to be is himself. His dream, when he permits himself to have one, is to become an animage. In only his most secret heart does he admit to even loftier goals. Usually, he just sits by himself, playing a penny whistle and hoping that he doesn't disappoint anyone.
Personality: Shy, although if he loses his temper, he loses his shyness.
Likes: Classical music, chess (although he's bad at it), playing the penny whistle (he's good at it)
Dislikes: Bullies (he will stand up to them) Having to live up to his family reputation
Academic Outlook: A hard worker, driven to excel. Favorite class: Potion Making. Least Favorite Class: History of Magic. He does well in any class he applies himself in, and is able to scrape by in any class he dislikes, due to his exceptional memory. He does not do well with math or logic puzzles. He wants to be an animage, and will spend any free time he is allowed in the library doing research, even if it means not being in the crowd for a Quidditch match.(Gasp!)
Quirks: Michael is gifted with a natural talent for magic, and shows promise using 'free magic'. Once he gets in the air and on a Quidditch field, he will likely show great potential as a Keeper. (The problem is getting him there...) He has a partially photographic memory, and knows a great deal of trivia, both arcane and mundane. Strong sense of honor. When he gives is word, he keeps it.
Counter Quirks: The one place he does not excel is the place he is supposed to. To date, he has never attempted to get a broom off the ground. He is afraid of flying. More precisely, he is afraid of failing,(that's failing, not falling) and this is manifesting itself in his fear of flying. He does not want to fail as keeper of the family record, and, if he never flies, he will never let a quaffle past him. Once in the air, he will likely prove an able flier, as long as he doesn't think about what he is doing, or second guess himself. Tends to fixate on tasks, especially if he has trouble with them.
Appearance: Michael is an average looking young man, with eyes that are a startling colour of blue. They seem almost translucent, they are so pale. Those pale eyes seem to miss very little, and are constantly moving, unless they are fixed on a task. His hair is brown and he prefers to keep it short, because if allowed to grow long, it develops into 'adorable' ringlets. He has a shy smile, which makes the occasional rare appearance, although it takes time for him to develop the level of trust required to begin a friendship. He smiles when he is by himself, when he thinks of his home, his family (sometimes) and his pet. He smiles when he thinks of his dreams, and occasional sheds a single tear, when he realizes how far off they are....
