Background: Elyham grew up in a fairly normal house hold. Or so she thought. Little did she know that her father was a wizard or that her mother was a squib. (Both parents came from half blood family's)
She did not display any traits to show that she had wizard blood running in her blood though she was tested at a very early age. She didn't even qualify as a squib for no knowledge about the wizards world ever surfaced. Karl and Helen loved their daughter none the less and decided to raise her like a muggle. She played entirely with muggle children, went to a muggle school, and the secret of her parents being anything but normal people was kept from her.
Her father worked undercover for the ministry rooting out and infiltrating the lairs of dark wizards. However one day things did not go according to plan and little did he know his cover was blown. In retaliation the dark wizards murdered his wife. Elyham took the loss of her mother hard and at the age of 10 things for the girl were never the same.
But life did not get better. Over the course of time her father and her moved to be closer to family. It two years later her uncle and aunt were killed in a tragic accident a Break and enter apparently gone wrong, although foul play was suspected it was ruled out. One the way back home from their funeral their car skidded out of control and rolled down a ravine. Her father died in the crash and Elly escaped with several broken ribs and a broken arm. It was a bitter realization for her when she awoke in the hospital to discover her family was dead.
She was adopted by family friends of her fathers that lived in Ottawa that were wizards and that took her in and cared for her as their own. However they too led a secretive life keeping Karl's wishes that their daughter not know and saving her the extra confusion. Since they both worked at home inside of a basement laboratory brewing up the latest trendy potions for wizarding cosmetic companies it was easy to tell the young girl that they were scientists.
However at the age of 13 with such geeky guardians she withdrew and felt that she co habitat-ed with them and that she was a burden. She often left the house and stayed out as long as she could. She did what most young teens did and began to rebel. Already jaded and bitter from her experiences from her child hood she developed a fascination for things dark and macabre. Her music of choice was loud and angry and it wasn't long before Elyham hit 14 and began experimenting with drugs and cut her hair and died it vibrant purple. The look of course was not complete and hanging out with some local punks she added piercings to her newfound look. And of course school had to be skipped more often than ever. Jullian and Rebeca Watson. Elly's guardians didn't know what to do. Having had no children of their own. Talking to the girl only ended up with her yelling and screaming at them. They felt their hands were tied and could only watch the girl head down a destructive path.
After a particularly entertaining day of shoplifting and getting enough money together for party essentials Elly made her way to her friends bedroom and began to party hard. However the combination of drugs and alcohol was a bad mix and Something inside the girl awakened. A spontaneous transformation happened during Elly's trip that transformed her party friend into a dog after a joking comment was made to Elly.
Thus it came to be that Elly and her guardians received a letter from the ministry insisting that she be transfered to a school for magically gifted children so she could learn to control her powers.
Jullian and Rebeca took it as a miracle and a chance to have the girl turn over a new leaf and to get her life back on track. A new school in an entirely different country could only mean good things. It would take her away from the bad influences of drugs kids and other socially corrupt muggle temptations that kids her age were due to experience. They plan to take the opportunity to move over and work in England at their summer home during Elyham's school holidays and plan to reside in Ottawa in Canada for the time she is in school.
The news that she isn't normal has left her feeling even more alone and confused that normal. She thought she was an outside before but knowing that she now has these special powers makes her feel more than ever like a sideshow freak

Dislikes: People that make fun of others. Bullies, goody two shoes. Brown nosers, nosy people, liars and jerks.
Academic Outlook: School sucks. I used to think it was a complete waste of time, but my last 2 years at hogwarts has shown me that I have to learn some of it so I can survive out there. Classes that don't really require me to do magic are a bit easier to understand sometimes. But I still find I'm lost when it comes to work. My favorite class is probably flying. It just sucks I can't take it anymore. Why is it my stupid guardians have to pick my classes anyhow? One of the few classes I get but don't really love is potions, its sort of like bar tending minus the alcohol and insert funky ingredients here instead. And shockingly enough I have decided that I like transfigurations. Most of my classes I dread cause its hard to learn new spells, but transfigs is I don't know. Easier I guess... And I just honestly enjoy it. It just seems to offer more possibilities and freedom.
Quirks=Transfiguration's. She can at times shes discovered if she concentrates enough change small items into other small items on her own. IE a $5 bill into a $20 bill. She thought this was an awesome trick until she was shipped to hogwarts penitentiary for the magically handicapped.... Over the past 2 years she has managed to get a handle on this quirk though it exhausts her at times. Elly seems to have a hidden talent for transfigurations and has worked up the ability to shape and change sevreal different materials into similarly related materials.

Counter Quirks: Shes 16 but due to just having the magic in the past 2 yrs awaken in her shes got no knowledge how anything really works or how to really cast magic. Because of this she finds herself 3 yrs behind the students in Hogwarts. She will be forever behind with anyone in her age category.
Appearance: Elyham Used to have has shoulder length vibrant purple (Hoary for manic panic) hair and wore it that way throughout her first year at the school. (Normally her natural hair color is blood red but due to the unusual color she dyes it.) and haunting stone gray eyes, though she wears contacts often to make them look lilac in color. She sports a tongue stud, 5 piercings in each ear and an eyebrow ring. there maybe be more piercings but shes not likely to let anyone else know where they are...
However after spending her first summer at a boot camp run by the schools flight instructor, her appearance was drastically changed to conform with the schools standards. Elly's second year at school was one of bland normality her vibrant purple hair was re-dyed back to its normal color and her guardians seized possession of her piercings and make up. Elly was most often seen sporting a prim and proper school uniform at all times with her hair braided and her uniform worn exactly to specks.
This up coming year in Hogwarts for her third year with the help of summer school and finally shrugging off the last bonds of her emotional breakup and betrayal of her first year boyfriend. she is finally finding herself again. Shes come to the conclusion that her guardians honestly want to keep her away from home as much as normally so whats wrong with a bit of make up and getting her piercings or at least some of them back and enjoying them when shes not in their presence.
She stands a modest 5"7 and is slim and not overtly busty. She is however under weight by 15LBS (currently 113bs) Due to her darker moods/nightmares and bouts of depression that she silently struggles with.
