Background: For several centuries, the Spicer family name has meant Old Blood and Old Money. A proud, arrogant family of witches and wizards, they were counted amongst the most prestigious of pureblood families. All that changed during Voldemort’s efforts to seize control. After Voldemort returned to life, Roger Spicer joined the crusade eagerly, leaving his pregnant wife and oldest daughter to carry on alone. A battle with several aurors, ended Roger’s life and the subsequent seizing of his assets, left Helen Spicer struggling to bring up a baby and rebellious older daughter. When Catherine was eight, Helen married Marcus Lynch, a cold proud man, who only cared for the family lands that Helen had barely managed to hold onto. Susan, ignored and neglected by her new stepfather, ran away from home at the age of 16. Catherine grew up in a house full of wizarding pride, her mother never let her forget that her father had been a true hero, terribly betrayed by blood traitors to the wizarding race. Helen blamed all the money troubles on the ministry and Lynch, who had escaped the auror’s attentions, drilled them in the treachery and evil of all half bloods and muggles. Though Lynch had money, he lavished it on Helen and their son Adam, leaving Susan’s cast offs for Catherine to wear. Catherine’s life hasn’t been happy of late, she is well fed and kept warm, yet her clothes are old and threadworm and her life lacking in human comfort.

Likes: Food (it doesn’t ask anything) other purebloods, her cat whisky. She enjoys wizard chess, even though she isn’t particularly good and uses it to relax.
Dislikes: Her younger brother Adam for taking all her mother’s time, her older sister Susan for leaving her and Lynch for his cold hearted treatment of her. She despises the ministry, blaming them for killing her father and leaving her with Lynch. She blames the aurors for taking the life she should have had and she feels that if it hadn’t been for mudblood traitors, her father wouldn’t have died.
Academic Outlook: The more she can earn, the further she can move. She wants to leave home and knows that finding a good job is the fastest way out. Therefore, her studies are very important.
Quirks: Enchantments and Charms. She is also very well versed in darker magic, yet her step-father refused to pay for her to go to Durmstrang.
Counter Quirks: Herbology is her downfall and she doesn’t understand Care of Magical Creatures at all. (why would anyone want to care for those smelly, ignorant things)
Appearance: Slightly overweight with blonde hair usually braided into pigtails. Her clothes strain slightly at the seams and are clearly hand-me-downs from several years ago.
