Guidelines
Middle Names (Unless they are cannon names) if possible should NOT be entered. This is to make things easier, especially for women entries because there is not a place to put Maiden names.
Format for a woman's name
First/Given Name: NAME (MADIENname)
Surname:MARRIEDname
If you are leaving the maiden name open, format for first name is NAME (Maiden)
If a woman is allowed to be married to any family, but you dont have a family for her to marry into yet, surname should be OPEN
Format for a Man's name
First/Given Name: NAME
Surname: FAMILYname
The tree is based off of the Black Family Tree, so use it as a reference if you are going to be linking up names already in the tree and going down from them so that you get the correct number of generations.
All records can have sons, daughters, siblings, and parents added to them. Please only relate a family to the Black family by one of the open slots, because in the HP universe all the Blacks (or at least Blacks that have the last name Black) are dead. Also the Gaunt and Riddle family are off limits to everyone unless you have Manager Approval. Everyone else for the most part is open.
Before you add on to a family check the "View More Information about ...." link to check the notes and make sure that there are not limitations on relations (for instance Muggle or Muggle-born).
To keep things simple, a Muggle can marry into a family but only a half-muggle/half-pureblood child can go on the list. Please do not go more than one generation because this is a Pureblood Family Tree.
If your character's family is not one of pureblood desent, ask and I will create a family tree for your family (special instance only, if crossovers are needed between trees I will do my best to help but I promise nothing.)
Other Guidelines
If the person marries a muggle, please put MUGGLE in the spouse's notes area (Very last field).
If the person marries a muggle born, please put MUGGLE BORN in the spouses notes area.
If the person is a squib, put SQUIB in the notes area.
If the person never married/couple never had children put that in the notes area.
If the whole family died, put that in the father or mother's notes area AND DO NOT ADD THE SPOUSE OR CHILDREN.
